Hey star-gazers! This is your weekly astrology forecast for November 14–20, 2022.
This week, I want to talk about the energy of endings because, if you’re like me, you can’t help noticing that we have no major inner or outer planets in the early degrees of signs right now. In fact, with the exception of Saturn and Uranus, all other major planets, the Moon excepted, are within the last decan of the signs that they’re currently transiting.
The Sun, Mercury and Venus, are all wrapping up their transit through Scorpio, bringing to a close some more difficult energies that could have presented themselves in the area of our relationships, communications, or money-matters. The fact that each of them will form a trine to retrograde Jupiter as they exit the sign on the 15th, 16th and 21st respectively will help initiate a lighter, more optimistic and hopeful period over the next month or so. And, of course, Jupiter in Pisces is slowing down, about to station direct next week at around 28 degrees, 47 minutes of Pisces.
With the exception of Pluto still hanging out in Capricorn, all other planets are in either fixed or mutable energy, urging us to stay the course, or to revise our current direction if we need to, but don’t start anything new!
We can see this echoed in some of the major energies right now: Mars is retrograde until the early weeks of January next year, Jupiter won’t enter Aries until December 20, and within a week of that Mercury will be turning retrograde on December 29. In a nutshell, New Year, new you, but until then, how do we navigate the week ahead?
First off, any pressure you could be feeling in your relationships will blessedly let up this week as Venus changes signs on November 16. This sign change is going to initiate an exciting month-long transit that could see new, expansive opportunities in relationships — both romantic and friendships — as well as creative endeavours crop up.
For many of us, we could see this sign change coincide with the restoration of buoyancy in Taurus and Libra-ruled areas of our lives — the themes of optimism, hope, and a focus for broadening experiences and horizons will be positive counterweights to the heavier energies of the last couple of months.
Mercury will follow suit the next day, entering Sagittarius where, although it will be in the place of its detriment, it will be received by an extremely strong Jupiter, slowing down to station direct, by sign-based square, which can make this a great energy this week for big, bold, expansive thinking. It could also be a great energy for taking any learning we might be doing to a higher level since the square can cause a good kind of friction, lighting a fire under us. And, of course, with Mercury in a fairly tight conjunction to Venus, this could take on a particularly benefic quality in our lives, offering a boon to relationship matters; augmenting our facility for communications, negotiation and persuasion; or giving those of us with a penchant for music, art, writing, and artistic endeavours a little extra flair for thinking outside the box.
These planets, as well as the Sun, will not only trine this especially strong and beneficent Jupiter as they exit Scorpio, but that sextile between Jupiter and Pluto can even help add profound depth and a potential transformative push for the better in the Piscean areas of our lives. As Jupiter gains strength during its station, applying to that sextile to Pluto, this can be a watershed moment in the last, lingering days of its retrograde, to forever change this area of our lives for the better.
Towards the close of the week that retrograde Mars-retrograde Neptune square that we've been talking about for weeks will perfect, which, as you know, has been an ever-present energy for the last few weeks. We could feel this aspect most intensely around the 19th or 20th, so, if this energy has been manifesting as doubt, disillusionment, or concern that the path you may currently be on with respect to whatever Mars in Gemini symbolizes in your chart may not be the right one, the challenge will be not throwing in the towel.
Remember, retrograde Neptune can deeply and profoundly internalize any fears that we may be experiencing, and in watery Pisces this could very well be about our hopes and dreams. Whatever this happens to correspond to in our charts, we may be locked into an internal battle that has us wondering if the direction we’ve been moving in is the right one, especially as Neptune transiting through a sign can always obscure, fog, cloud, or deceive us just as much as it can offer us profound hope, spiritual connection, and transcendent possibilities.
On a more mundane level, watch out for this energy to present some challenges to your communications. Perhaps this has been more omnipresent in your life, but Mars squaring Neptune can sometimes lead confused speech, misunderstanding, or failing to articulate yourself clearly. So, all in all, if you find yourself especially low towards the close of the week, just remember that this really can be an aspect concerned with getting crystal clear on our commitment to whatever dreams we have, and that sign-based sextile from Pluto in Capricorn could really be giving us the transformative push to get serious about how we concretize our hopes.
So, this week, hold the tension of the opposites. The energies could feel almost like their duelling one another: on the one hand, we’ll get a profound lightness, hope and even restoration of vitality, while, on the other, a lingering cloud of doubt and discomfort could weigh at the back of our minds. The important lesson here will be to sit with the tension and to stay the course. And, like I said in my last forecast, the important action that we can all take throughout the month of November is to practice a self-care that helps us stay calm, clears the mind, and aids in our ability to remain grounded in the face of any destabilizing or challenging energies, like those brought on by Mars and Neptune.
