Weekly Astrology Forecast for January 29–February 4, 2023* - Back in the Driver's Seat!

Hey star-gazers! We survived the month of January, living to tell the harrowing tales of Mars and Mercury retrogrades! Perhaps the former was a little bumpier than the latter, but hopefully the two planetary U-turns brought clarity and a renewed sense of purpose.

February is looking like an awesome month for getting things done. With all the planets direct in the sky — and, in some cases, winding down their longer-term storylines in certain signs — enjoy these last few weeks of quasi-status quo celestial placements before March sends seismic shifts our way.

We end the month with two important trines taking place on Sunday, January 29. Both Mercury and Mars will hit up Uranus and the Sun, shining a spotlight on big ideas, unexpected insights and creative inspiration.

The days immediately following January 29 could present networking opportunities, venues for getting your ideas heard, or introduce new projects requiring sharp analytical prowess. Both these aspects could demand a carpe diem-esque response, especially with Uranus striking, so expect the astrological rubber to hit the celestial road this week!

Also occurring on January 29, a supporting cast of asteroids helps bring this larger energetic signature into sharper focus. As retrograde Pallas Athena in Cancer perfects to a square with Chrion in Aries, expect confrontation with the ghosts of past insecurities to make a cameo appearance.

However, healing is on the agenda with an emphasis on greater personal independence and self-confidence. Pallas in the lunar-ruled sign of home, family, safety and security, configured to Chiron, could be asking you to work through long-standing issues that have left you feeling more powerless and less capable than you truly are!

As we slide into the month of February, many areas of your life — from career to finances to creative projects and relationships —could get a helpful boost.

Venus begins the month exalted in watery Pisces and co-present dreamy Neptune. Moving rapidly towards a trine with the Moon in Cancer on February 2, expect to get lost in the hopeful possibilities of romantic relationships, or to luxuriate in some much-deserved self-pampering.

The sextile between between Juno in Aries and Mars in Gemini also occurring that day could underscore any impetus towards conscious coupling, leading some of us to jump headfirst into a new relationship.

While this aspect could have some of us seduced by the assertive bravado of a potential paramour, the loose conjunction between Juno and Chiron could also force us to confront an emotional crutch that has historically undermined our ability to stand on our own two feet.

The sextile between Vesta in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn the next day could intensify relationship commitments, so proceed with caution lest you fall into old patterns, dependency issues, or — Goddess forbid! — you find yourself derailed from everything on your Mars-is-now-direct checklist.

Also on February 3, expect a little sizzle from the Sun in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus. This could bring a slightly unstable energy to the day and a propensity towards surprises, particularly in matters pertaining to financial or material security.

This aspect could manifest as an unexpected expense or a sudden shake-up to your routine. While the friction may feel a bit irksome towards the close of the week, it’s easiest if you just take these events in stride.

We close the week with Venus in Pisces squaring Mars in Gemini, which could amplify an urge to communicate emotional desires to a close friend, family member or partner.

Venus in a dreamier place craves the boundary-dissolving, emotional depth and diffusive energy that only the sign of the fishes can offer. While rose-coloured glasses seem apt for a month that’s all about romance, the tendency towards building castles in the air can sometimes set us up for a spectacular fall, especially after Venus meets up with Neptune around Valetine's Day. When it separates from its conjunction, we can sometimes see things a little more clearly, so try not to let a potential for idealization lead you to oerlook issues with a loved one.
